There's something about single-color + black printing that really speaks to me. Like, I know it was born of the necessity to save on printing costs, but dang can you get some amazing designs with it. I want to figure out how to harness that.

On one page of the xmas drawing book, Ed Emberley uses gray shading to represent yellow on a candle drawing, with a little note to the reader to use yellow when they draw it. charming!
