I submitted #eazim , my latest, #Dune -inspired #orchestral piece to the #HOFA #Song #Contest happening these days (well, until August). I gave away some codes for it on #bandcamp right here. If anyone liked I or if you just want to help me with the contest could you please vote for it? I'll leave you the link: https://hofa-contest.com/song/16676/
Thanks!

I have to admit I didn't like Villeneuve's take on a book I already found boring years ago, when I attempted reading it. I didn't enjoy the first movie from the 80s either. So why write a piece, for orchestra on top of that, about Dune? Cos I like its setting, that middle eastern mood of this vast, magnificent, huge desert and its inhabitants, the Fremen. It captured my imagination and I in turn tried to put it down into music. This piece begins its voyage as a synth track using one of Arturia's Pigments 4 excellent presets, one that sounded close to an organ. From there the challenge: could I arrange it for orchestra? How far could I push the skills I acquired in five years and a half of piano practice and study? How deep could I venture inside myself to find the melodies and harmonies missing in the original? Could I do all this? Almost a month has passed since I began working on this song. Did I manage? The answer is up to you. I sincerely hope you enjoy the piece as much as I was both elated and utterly disintegrated in bringing it into existence. I chose a title in Arabic, eazim, an adjective which I think describes well Arrakis desert. Have fun and remember, the spice must flow.
