A lovely photo of José Natividad Reyna Moreno, el Brujo Mayor of the Concheros and one of my San Francisco's hometown heroes. He was born in 1904 and started his dance group in 1930. He passed away in 1995 after a very successful career.

I found another picture on Guadalajara Pride's 2018 coverage of the event. She is dressed in the #conchero outfit, a dance probably originating from the Chichimecas in northern Mexico.

The dance is a curious syncretism of several different traidtions, and I've never quite figured out exactly what those are. This picture is adding another modern ingredient into this cultural mix.
