China seems to be attempting a global gaslighting in order to fool people into thinking that they are doing anything towards addressing our #ClimateCrisis

China accounted for 95% of the world’s new coal power construction activity in 2023, according to the latest annual report from Global Energy Monitor.

One CANNOT build new coal fired power plants and ALSO say that you are a #ClimateHawk

@mikeblake @bethsawin
I and everyone who supports climate justice is supporting Joe Biden since he's proven himself to be a #ClimateHawk

@whitehouse '
Thank you Joe! I'm so glad that enough of my fellow Americans elected a true #ClimateHawk

The new rule shutting down our coal plants in less than ten years is awesome too! Hopefully, we can fend off the impending legal assaults from the stakeholders vested in the status quo.

Moving forward this new rule on transmission is really crucial for decarbonization too since our feckless Congress won't act with Moscow Mike holding the gavel.

I expect that your idea of a #ClimateHawk is Putin so no wonder you despise Biden and Americans so much for beginning the transition of the world's largest economy off of fossil fuels.

But comparing the EU with the USA total definitely we've been slower to decarbonize, but just like in Europe all of our states are not the same.

This is big #ClimateProgress news that I'm sure the doomers won't be passing along.

Our planet's biggest economy is on track to reduce their carbon pollution by over 5% this year because enough Americans stepped forward and voted for a #ClimateHawk to be POTUS as opposed to allowing the climate science denier to stay in office.

We got emissions to drop so much by reducing coal burning by 30%!

It also looks like 2023 will end up being the year of China's peak oil use too btw.

There's a strong tendency for people to believe whatever someone in their "tribe" says even if they happen to be a grifting fundraising organization.

Here are the actual oil & gas lease sales over the last decade as reported by our government under penalty of law for lying.

Biden is a #ClimateHawk that has gotten more #ClimateAction done than any other human ever.

Perhaps the GOP will put up a #ClimateHawk better than he's doing, but I don't think so personally.
@katewylem @Frances_Larina @SeanCasten
Yeah, he's my favorite #ClimateHawk but only his account is mirrored here. I think that my instance has blocked many of those, but I'm pretty sure I've seen some from him?

@katewylem @Frances_Larina
@SeanCasten a great #ClimateHawk in congress and a few others are tooting now.

Search for their names. They may be mimicked here or actually be posting here.

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse is the #ClimateHawk we need in the position we need him.

One Republican witness called the report “garbage” and challenged the legitimacy of including indirect subsidies. This obviously suits the fossil fuel industry, but it is not correct market theory. Economists as conservative as Milton Friedman have recognized that negative externalities should be in the price of a product, and to shift that cost to the public is a subsidy. https://www.budget.senate.gov/chairman/newsroom/press/sen-whitehouse-fossil-fuel-funded-climate-obstruction-is-causing-systemic-financial-risks-to-the-economy
