4. We use the PSU rating of hardware we supply to (over) estimate electricity consumption, double it to account for air-conditioning, etc. and use the government's published conversion factors to convert that to kg CO2e, then use #ClimateCare to offset that each year that the hardware is in use.

The customers have an opt-out on the offsetting arrangements, but almost no one exercises it, and since we try to over-estimate emissions, we are hopefully over-offsetting.

3. We estimate the CO2e emissions for production, transport and disposal of server hardware that we supply, and offset this through #ClimateCare (couldn't get figures for the hardware we actually supply, but Dell publish figures which are all in the 1,200 - 1,700 kg CO2e range, so we offset 1,700 kg CO2e).
