M|R Walls by Mario Romano for CDUK

Dezeen Showroom: designer Mario Romano has created the M|R Walls line of decorative walls for CDUK, featuring motifs sharply cut into smooth Corian solid surface material.

Created in collaboration with lighting manufacturer Applelec, M|R Walls are textured with nature-inspired patterns designed by Romano, a designer specialising in digital fabrication and architecture.

Mario Romano created patterns informed by nature, including Leaf

Romano used custom digital tools, CNC machining and moulding to create the designs, which are unlimited in scale and have a smooth, continuous appearance, despite being easy to install in puzzle-like pieces.

Twelve different M|R Walls patterns are available in a choice of five Corian shades of white and grey. Bespoke options are also available on request.

The multidimensional feature walls can be completed with backlighting, surface lighting or smart lighting

M|R Walls are non-porous, easy to clean, and impervious to water, bacteria and mould.

The feature walls can be customised with surface lighting, smart lighting, or backlighting, taking advantage of Corian's translucency.

Corian Solid Surface new colour range by CDUK

Dezeen Showroom: surface design brand CDUK has expanded its Corian Solid Surface range with new colours, providing a number of design options for a seamless look.

Corian Solid Surface by CDUK is a solid surface material suitable for commercial and residential projects, including areas susceptible to wear and tear and high traffic areas such as airports.

The range has been updated with a combination of neutral, warm colours such as Sand Storm, Artista Grey and Artista Dust.

The Corian Solid Surface range has been updated with new colours

Made with acrylic, the material is designed to be long-lasting, hygienic, cut-resistant and does not fade in sunlight.

Additionally, architects and designers can request bespoke versions with embossed logos and engravings. These are made via thermoforming, which creates various 2D and 3D design options.

Multiple pieces can be glued together to create a seamless piece

Separate pieces of Corian Solid Surface can be glued together inconspicuously to create a seamless look.

Long counters, for example, can be made easily in lightweight pieces in a workshop and then joined together in kitchens, hotels or other spaces.

PaperStone surfacing by CDUK

Dezeen Showroom: PaperStone is a composite finish by CDUK that's designed to resemble stone but made with recycled paper and petroleum-free phenolic resin.

PaperStone can be used to cover surfaces, bathroom products as well as furnishings such as tables.

PaperStone is a composite surface material

CDUK describes the material as a cost-efficient solution that is "hard as stone yet made from paper".

The final result is non-porous, UV- and impact-resistant and can withstand temperatures of up to 180 degrees Celcius.

The material is available in three thicknesses and comes in two different sizes

As well as being made from recycled FSC-certified paper and cardboard, the material is once again recyclable at the end of its life.

"The more we re-use products, the less we acquire new products, deplete world resources and waste energy manufacturing new materials," said CDUK.

PaperStone is available in 11 colours, two sizes and three thicknesses of 6, 13 and 19 millimetres.
