I wish I had had my phone with me earlier this morning, because our bulldog pit mix, Nettie was in the shoveled path we have for the dogs in their yard, and the puppy Gertie was with her.

Nettie tried to go around the exuberant puppy by jumping up onto the icy snowpack.

Well, Nettie is 55 lbs and feet like paddles, so she sank up to her chin. However, little Miss Gertie at 12 and 1/2 lbs was walking along the top of the ice-crusted snow.

It was Gimli and Legolas on the mountain pass on Caradhras in real life, with dogs.

An hour of play and a poop outside (so happy!) and now Miss Gertie needs a nap.
Smeagol has been excellent, and she's big enough so he can chase her a little and play the 'mouthy' game.
