زاهِـرٌ مُـتَأَخِّـرٌ (late bloomer).
Time is a critical issue that anyone can deal with in their lives’ times. When it comes to self development and settling in life, Time becomes a living hell.
“Blooming late” is, naturally, a sensitive issue for females (this is biology after all), and probably such a topic is mainly attached to them. However, somewhere out there in a dark corner, there supposed to be some males as well who go under such a burden unnoticed. The media, however, seem to skim over those, and probably spread the idea that it’s alright for a man to flourish, settle down, have a family, at a later stage of life, because (again) this is how biology works. Yet, such outlets simply seem to forget the fact that men age too under the mercy of their own biology, and have their own health issues that develop in time.
The common argument is that they mature in time and to be settled later in life makes them stable, firm in their relationships, and in their lives. Such ideas, apparently, seem to ignore some issues, such as middle-age crisis and others that men usually carry the burden thereof.
In a world that promotes wealth at a young age and to flex, with dreams of gaining while asleep, these men stand on a borderline between two times, or rather between two worlds; a world and time they came from with their own values that don’t work anymore, and a world and time where they can’t adapt easily to nor adjust their mentality for; and with this perplexity, when one of their past dreams becomes a reality, their old minds would freeze with a simple unanswerable question: What now?
As much as it is ecstatic to have one of these (legitimate) hopes and dreams fulfilled, deep inside these guys, beside the gratefulness, there is that unshakable sorrow and loss of appetite for what they wished for when they were younger, and as much as time heals, time also forgets…
