She is the freshest doll in my Witch Town. I knew right from the beginning She is going to be related to connections. Those mirroring, light breaking eyes right from the start told me about reflecting everything around, we want it or not - whatever is happening gets under our skins, the people we meet, the events - it's not just our choices as we are not separated from each other, we weave our own thread into the fabric of the lives and personalities of others as we give, take and receive.

Then I started to work on the hair - a bit messy, yet two neat braids came out of the vibrant chaos hanging down. And then one after another tentacles started to grow out of the head. That's where I started to wonder - who is she? A deity? Mythical creature? A goddess for sure, but what goddess? I haven't met her before. I found in Her reflections of African spider Anansi - the weaver of stories, the one who brought stories to the world, the one associated with knowledge and wisdom. Then I noticed the reflections of Hindu goddesses, not any specific one, just in general - the mood, the vibe, the energy.

As I crafted Her crown I went beyond the realm of gods. I met The Mind. Oh, yes, I see in Her how our minds sort out what manifests into our realities, how our thoughts go out in the world and return to us, how we feed the reality with our thoughts, but She invited me to wander even further. To the universal, living, infinite mind. The mind beyond human mind. The one within which we all are one. The cosmic consciousness? But with a human face..? With braids and crown?

"Expression," she whispered. "One of the infinite number of expressions of the same."

I picked up "The Kybalion" - a tiny book by the mysterious Three Initiates that kind of explains the Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Egypt and Greece. I say "kind of" because I'm not sure the Hermetic philosophy can be fully explained or perceived, or I just wanted to understand it better when I was reading it from cover to cover a few years ago. I pick it up from time to time, but not for a serious study or contemplation, just to give something from it to grind in my head as I go about my day.

So I came back to this book this time to read about the Principle of Mentalism - the truth that all is mind, but "THE ALL is SPIRIT which in itself is UNKNOWABLE and UNDEFINABLE, but which might be considered and thought of as AN UNIVERSAL, INFINITE, LIVING MIND." I can't explain it any further, I still have a long way to walk to be able to discuss Hermetic Philosophy. The point is, I found that infinite, living mind in Her. For a moment I touched the vastness of it with my tiny mind - it was a momentary awareness as an unexpected guest, and then I went back to being a story weaving spider - just another expression of it all and the same.

The spirit, the cosmic consciousness that weaves the fabric of life, all stories and experiences, perceptions and interpretations of truth.
