I saw @JohnPicacio at #armadillocon and came back with a copy of his book _The Invisible Parade_ that he co-wrote with Leigh Bardugo. I finally read it, and wow. The story is powerful and deeply meaningful. The illustrations are beautiful, of course, but they are full of thoughtful details that add even more emotional depth. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I would say it's "many".
I went to two other cons this year, #Bubonicon and #ArmadilloCon and we had a much better time. Attendance was higher for each. I don' have numbers but I'd say 400-500 for both.
I'm not using #TusCon as a hashtag because too many people spell #Tucson wrong. So I'll use #Tucson52 to ID the specific con.
The only thing they didn't have that TusCon did was filk. My wife is a huge filker. I'm not and that's a big draw for her.
The filk guests of honor, Jeff and Maya Bonhoff were great.
