In Denmark there is a small island called Læsø. Many of the old houses on Læsø have a roof made of seaweed. Traditionally the roof was build by the woman on the island and the houses inherited by the female line of the family. All because all men on Læsø were at sea (and many of them lost there lives there). So daily life were run by the woman on the island.
