In the Netherlands, approximately 2.7 million people are lesbian, gay, bi-plus, transgender, queer, intersex, or asexual (LGBTQIA+). That amounts to almost 18 percent of all Dutch people aged 15 and over, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reported on Coming Out Day on Friday. It is the first time that the statistics agency has published an estimate for these groups.According to the researchers, approximately 2.5 million people have “a non-heterosexual orientation.” They are lesbian, gay, or bisexual.
