Cats! is on the telly and it's kinda like something you would get if you asked the whole of the Fediverse to write a collaborative musical.

But I don't even know if Cats! is self-consciously kitsch/bad/naff/wrong. It's something that's just wrong in so many ways, but like a gruesome scene of torture, somehow you can't look away.

There are lots of bests this year but for me above all others the best thing that happened in 2024 was CATS: The Jellicle Ball. The PAC became my house of worship and the experience was ecstasy. I am not a spiritual person and believe religion a con. It might sound like the show was church for me but it came from a much higher, purer plane.
