Every Sunday I look back at the preceding week in kpop and pick out a music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I have chosen Yein – Dance with me.

I couldn’t listen to city pop all the time, but every so often it hits the spot. Yein’s vocal style suits the city pop sound, and in spite of the digital single not having a big budget, she looks pretty as she city pops through Seoul at night.

Yein

As I finished trudging through a biography of Hegel, that most ponderous of philosophers, I was in the mood for something completely different. This publicity picture of sometime Lovelyz member Yein in the title role of "Carmilla" caught my eye, and prompted me to dig up a copy of the Sheridan Le Fanu novella that I had bought a little while ago but had then put aside.

What a delight it was after pages and pages of Geist, negation, and sublation to dive into a Gothic tale of lesbian vampirism!

I'd love to see Yein in the advertised show!
