The scene in my backyard. We're excited to get these beauties corralled and socialized. Perhaps including the mom, because she is not very hostile for a feral cat. If she does seem somewhat friendly once she's spayed, we might just release her in our yard and keep feeding her. Maybe she'll tame herself and come inside. ❤️❤️❤️

The babies we'll be adopting out. Little cuties.

When I was out in the backyard today putting nuts out for the crows, the squirrel I've been calling Little Mama climbed to the top of the fence and stared at me. Usually she will come to the ground and silently ask for nuts, which I'll toss to her. Today, though, she seemed to want something, looking at me with her glossy black eyes. I held out a cashew and she took it with her tiny brown fingers, then sat there eating it, keeping an eye on me. When she finished, she begged again, and I gave her another cashew, and another, which she took in her little mouth. While she was eating, I laid out some other nuts to see what she liked best. She knocked the shelled pistachio off the fence post, but walnuts and macadamias seemed to pass inspection.

What an honor. I know lots of people befriend squirrels, but I didn't think I would. I just wanted a crow army. This is an unexpected bonus!
