Modern Au~

Wu Ming attends this run down underfunded middle school where he is brutally bullied and isolated.

His mother just recently passed away and little is known of the father, the teacher explains to the new TA, a high school senior volunteer.

The TA takes special interest in Wu Ming because he sees how smart he actually is and his potential if only he had a better support system.

He connects him with the school counselor, another overworked school staff that overlooked Wu Ming because of his repeated absences.

Wu Ming finds a ray of hope on this beautiful TA who is the only person who has not treated him with disgust or pity. His name is Xie Lian, and Wu Ming makes a vow to accomplish great success in the future to show his TA that he was right about him all along.

He yearns for the time they will get to spend together in school until the time he graduates.

Unfortunately, when the next semester arrives Xie Lian doesn’t come back and is replaced with another volunteer.

Not knowing anything about his beautiful TA, the only thing Wu Ming has to hold on to is the promise he made, not knowing if he will get to meet Xie Lian in the future or not.

Happy #wumingwednesday to those who celebrate.

It’s been too long since my last post. Sigh.

I’m feeling a little bit on a writing mood. Let’s see if I can come up with something good.

#HualianHappyHour and #WuMingWednesday (pride)

"There," Xie Lian says, finishing the final purple stripe of the flag on Wu Ming's cheek. He's glad Hua Cheng agreed to use the memory monster for this. Wu Ming is so cute every time he shows up, but Xie Lian always wants to show him off. Now he can.

Wu Ming's gaze darts toward his discarded mask.

"No one will even notice," Xie Lian reassures him. He kisses Wu Ming's brow on the side of his red eye. "Not in Ghost City during Pride. At most, they'll compliment your new form. Want to take a peek?"

Xie Lian's excitement seems to be contagious, and Wu Ming agrees. Soon, they're strolling through chaotic streets, hand in hand.

"I'm tired of not being able to see your face!" Xie Lian hisses, stomping over to Wu Ming. "Even I take off my mask to eat! What are you hiding under there? Some horrible secret?"

"Your Highness should not have to see it," Wu Ming says, standing perfectly still. "It's ugly."

Xie Lian rolls his eyes. "I fought in the same war you did," he says dismissively. "I saw plenty of ugly things." He reaches out, snatches Wu Ming's mask away, and...

"I brought a spare," Wu Ming says. "Just in case."

Xie Lian stares at him, incredulous. A painted smile stares back.

Okay, so, Hong Hong'er would probably not have been tasked or trusted with tea prep by his family (if that was something they could afford? I claim no expertise here). He neverhad a chance to learn about it, but he knows that cultivators and nobles drink it

When Wuming stumbles across a little brick of it on their way out after burning down the Yong'an palace he grabs it.

He knows it's brewed, kind of like a tincture, but nothing more than that. He throws in the whole puck of tea and boils it to death.

Both the care and terribleness of it gut Calamity Xie Lian all over again.

#wumingWednesday

It's #Wumingwednesday and I haven't posted anything for the past two weeks \TAT/
