The little writers fest I’m organising for my small town is coming along nicely.
I have four authors (including myself), and meetings next week to potentially add three more sessions (if all three come in, I may step back because seven feels like a long day and I can’t see how I can run my session at the same time as running the whole day anyway).

Our venue is at a Bridgetown institution, the Pottery Restaurant - they’ve been here for coming up on 40 years! We had their devonshire tea on our first visit to Bridgetown 25 years ago, scones as big as our heads, and back then they actually did have pottery for sale, and served their milkshakes in giant pottery mugs.
The only downside is Pip the restaurant owner and chef is away that weekend, so we can’t do her amazing Feed Me menu at the end of the day - but she’s thinking she’ll get her staff to offer Devonshire teas during the festival - which will be a massive coup, because people are begging her to bring them back (after 40 years, you have to forgive them if they’d rather only open a few nights a week).
But seriously, fellow West Australians, if you’re ever in Bridgetown and Pip’s running a Feed Me that night, DO IT.
