Did she take the opportunity of his (I assume) amnesia to have his memories reprogrammed to a new past so he would stop asking questions about his father? Is that why he has a new name? She invented a whole new identity? Maybe had him take over some dead kid’s, which would explain why he has a new first name even if, for example, she got married and had him take her husband’s name?
