I was starting to think one of the MSDOS programs I use had broken somehow... Turns out it was wattcp.cfg had become outdated.π
This summer, for the first time in 15+ years, the default state of my main server has been "off" rather than "on" and it can't be my local nameserver if it's off!
Humm, NCSA telnet is probably broken too, and I wouldn't notice because all my local hosts are specified in it's config file...
