Some context…

For decades Swiss #warMaterial kept appearing in places embarrassing wrt human rights.

A majority emerged in the population and in parliament for a stricter export regime. It had to confront ugly tactics by #ArmTradeLiberals — tightening the #WarMaterialAct just before a popular vote only to relax it later, "interpreting" decrees and rules with laxity bordering on dishonesty, etc.

So #parlCH wrote stricter rules into a law which came into force in 2022…
