There is no investigation, no analysis and no tangible information beyond reporting the ban and that water is required for concrete (and “building transformers” ? That’s a new one to me). Adds nothing to the well known scarcity of potable water sources on the world’s driest continent. Well done ABC… NOT.
The author’s only saving grace, besides making readers aware that water is a scarce commodity, is to confirm that Data Centres are water guzzlers — you can find a reference to the latter in a throwaway sentence at the very end of the article.
