Meet Edith Margaret Garrud (1872–1971). She was among the first female professional martial arts instructors in the Western world. Edith trained the Bodyguard unit of the Women's Social and Political Union (#WSPU) in jiujitsu self-defence techniques.
She died 50 years ago, but is not and will never be forgotten.
