Bastian Greshake Tzovaras is a researcher with a background in biology and citizen science and an open science activist. He works as a senior researcher at The Alan Turing Institute. In 2011, he founded openSNP. He was awarded a PhD in Bioinformatics in 2018. In 2017 he joined the Open Humans Foundation as the Director of Research.

Loved our panel at #Voices2024 today, great discussion about the skills needed in an AI world: interrogating power dynamics. For example how "AI” will be used by corporations trying to wring more profits out of us, c.f. @pluralistic's point on the real AI risk not being robots stealing your jobs, but your boss being suckered into firing you & replacing you with a bot that can't actually do your job.

Also included great actionable tips such as “support independent media" and "join a union" 😄💪🔥
