In a few days, these two live recordings by Illusion of Safety, featuring, on one track each, Voice of Eye and members of Life Garden, will be 30 years old.

As one might gather from the participants, the results are eerie, drifting soundscapes that incorporate acoustic instruments and intricate details. Best experienced with focused (late-night) listening.

Judging by the covers, you might be fooled to think that these CDs sound the same, but in fact, they don't.

On the left you have Voice of Eye, with 9 "spontaneous compositions" of ethereal, tribal ambient. New agey, but not in a cheesy way at all.

On the right you have the balls-to-the-wall noise courtesy of Lasse Marhaug and Tommi Keränen (@tommioffinland). I so want to experience them live sometime.
