@dantleech Back in the day when I started #VlbgWebDev I just wrote a bunch of emails to local companies. Worked out quite well, 30 people showed up for the very first one πŸ˜…

@JoshuaKGoldberg @joe As the founder and organizer of a meetup myself (#VlbgWebDev) I wonder a lot how different our paths were and still are.

During my exchange semester I visited #CopenhagenJS a two or three times. When I returned back home I wanted to do something similar, but there literally was no meetup in that area back in the day, so some of your tips don't apply.

@DominicLuidold Oh, and since I saw you've written a blog post about mutation testing (a very interesting topic IMO), could you imagine doing a talk about this at a #VlbgWebDev meetup? Maybe not immediately, since we just had a testing talk, but maybe somewhen next year πŸ™‚
@shochdoerfer I'm running #VlbgWebDev and agree with most points, but some are impractical. Our speakers mostly come from the community itself, so I usually have to go with whoever volunteers, which makes it pretty hard to look out for diversity. And I wouldn't want to record the meetups... I want people to be there in person (that's a very important point for me) and I bet many people are not feeling comfortable being recorded. Sometimes speakers share slides afterwards though.

Join the #VlbgWebdev December meetup at the Christmas Market in Dornbirn. No talks this month, but just a few drinks. We meet at 7pm in front of Cafe Steinhauser.
