Iranian Dies in ICE Custody as Trump Administration Bombs Iran
>While the current régime has justified the illegal war in Iran by claiming it is making the country safe for democracy, Iranians under the régime’s care suffer from unjust detention and threats of deportation to a country that in many cases would be likely to kill them. > >On March 6, ICE reported the death of Pejman Karshenas Najafabadi, a 59-year-old Iranian man who had lived in the US for 35 years. Najafabadi died of heart failure 9 days after being booked into an ICE facility in Louisiana, despite ICE itself having records of his chronic illness going back over a decade. > >Ryan Costello of the National Iranian-American Counsel states, “We have received reports of deplorable conditions… at ICE detention facilities, including those where [Najafabadi] was detained… We know that some detained Iranians who did not face the prospect of retaliation from the Iranian government willingly chose deportation back to Iran in recent months rather than continue to be detained in such awful conditions.” Other Iranians, including a same-sex couple, do face retaliation from Iran’s government, and are therefore stuck between two horrific options. Afghan asylum-seeker dies in ICE custody

>Mohammed Nazir Paktyawal became the 12th person (at least) to die in ICE detention in the first three months of 2026, leaving behind a wife, six children, and a pending asylum case that will now never be resolved. > >We highlight Paktyawal’s case because of the unique way that the Trump-Miller régime betrayed him. He came to the U.S. for safety after working with the military in his native Afghanistan. The operation that brought Paktyawal and his family to the U.S. was specifically designed to help protect Afghans who had aided the U.S. from retaliation when the Taliban took over. The racism, Islamophobia and xenophobia of the current régime and ICE/DHS runs so deep that Trump, Stephen Miller and company are flagrantly betraying their own allies in their attempt at ethnic cleansing. Seattle and nearby cities move to block ICE detention centers
>Seattle has taken proactive measures to curb the U.S. government and the corporations it contracts with to build ICE detention centers in the greater Seattle area. > >This month, the Seattle city council passed a one year emergency moratorium on expanding detention centers or building new ones within its city limits. At least four cities in the area have also passed similar measures. These ordinances come after DHS submitted a presolicitation proposal for the expansion of ICE detention in the Seattle area. > >Lawmakers in the greater Seattle area are attempting to do their due diligence to keep ICE detention out of their jurisdictions, before contractors have inked deals with the U.S. government. Top architecture firm won’t design more ICE prisons after employees revolt

>One of the largest architecture firms in the world, DLR Group, has responded to a revolt from the ranks of its own employees by swearing off any new work with ICE. Though the firm endorsed the idea of “humane design” of detention facilities, working on contract with CoreCivic to rehabilitate Diamondback Correctional Facility in Watonga, Oklahoma convinced an overwhelming number of employees that the very idea is a contradiction in terms. > >Architects and engineers throughout the firm revolted at the possibility of completing the work on Diamontback or accepting further contracts for detention facilities. According to one of them, “By the time I got to ‘This isn’t even our first detention center,’ that’s when the cold sweat hits. One of my greatest fears in life—and this is going to sound dramatic—but I don’t want to be one of the people in the village who said they didn’t know. This has turned me into one of those people. I am now actively profiting off making people disappear.” > >DLR has long worked on building prisons. In the short term, management has conceded: “We will not do work to expand the portfolio of facilities that private providers own and operate with a fiduciary interest in promoting actions that increase the use of incarceration.” Courageous DLR workers are standing by to make sure that management stays the course. Populace now views apartheid régime more negatively than positively, poll finds

>American voters now view Israel more negatively than positively, according to a new poll by NBC News that adds to a growing body of surveys demonstrating eroding support for the country in recent years. > >The poll, published on Monday by NBC News [https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2026-election/poll-israels-standing-plummets-democrats-fueling-primaries-left-rcna262995], found that among registered American voters today, 39% view Israel negatively while 32% view it positively. > >The survey’s findings marked a decline in positive views held by Americans for Israel since NBC News conducted a similar survey November 2023, which found that 24% viewed the country negatively compared to 47% positively. > >The new poll was conducted between Feb. 27 and March 3, during the beginning of the current war with Iran, and surveyed 1,000 registered voters nationally. > >The poll also found that, beyond declines across the board, views of Israel remain sharply divided along partisan lines, with most Democrats holding negative views and most Republicans expressing positive ones. > >Among Democrats, the poll found that 57% viewed Israel negatively, compared to just 13% who viewed the country positively, a significant drop from 34% who held positive views in 2023. For independents, 48% expressed a negative view, while 21% held a positive one. > >But positive views of Israel among Republicans also declined between 2023 to 2026, according to the survey, falling from 63% to 54%. > >Waning support for Israel, and increasingly bipartisan [https://www.jta.org/?p=1897866] disapproval of the war in Iran, has loomed large over the primary elections, with candidates increasingly spurning the support [https://www.jta.org/?p=1898021] of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and sharpening their criticism [https://www.jta.org/?p=1897794] of the country. > >The new poll comes weeks after a second national poll [https://www.jta.org/?p=1897493] found that Americans sympathized more with Palestinians than with Israelis. > >The NBC News poll found divided sympathies, with 40% of voters saying they sympathized more with Israelis while 39% sympathizing more with Palestinians. The margin of error was 3.1 percentage points.
At gas stations across the US, Trump voters are hurling insults at him after his brutal aggression against Iran caused fuel prices to skyrocket.
“Trump, you’re a useless piece of shit. I voted for you three times. Apparently, I’m an idiot.” At gas stations across the US, Trump voters are hurling insults at him after his brutal aggression against Iran caused fuel prices to skyrocket. Fascism and nationalism only bring misery and war, and some of its brutalized propaganda victims only learn the hard way. New York, March 15, 2026 - At the initiative of organizations of the solidarity movement with Cuba, the 9th International Conference on Normalization Cuba-United States was held in New York, an exchange space that brought together academics, activists, social leaders and friends of the Island committed to the promotion of respectful relations between both countries. The Conference highlighted the leading role and historic commitment of the international solidarity movement, whose organizations played a decisive part in convening, organizing, and conducting the various sessions and activities. In the inaugural plenary session, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, reiterated Cuba’s historic willingness to hold a serious and respectful dialogue with the United States, based on sovereign equality, non-interference in internal affairs and respect for the political system chosen by each State. The Cuban diplomat also denounced the impact of the oil embargo imposed against the island, whose consequences aggravate economic difficulties and affect the functioning of sectors essential to the life of the population. Within the framework of the Conference, meetings were also held between representatives of solidarity organizations and members of the Cuban delegation, which allowed for a first-hand exchange on the current situation in the country and the consequences of the policy of economic strangulation applied by the United States government. During the activities, participants highlighted Cuba’s example and its role as a benchmark for dignity, social justice, and the defense of the freedom of peoples, emphasizing that these values continue to inspire the active support of broad sectors of international civil society. The solidarity organizations reaffirmed their commitment to continue promoting information, mobilization, and support actions in defense of Cuba, while the Cuban delegation deeply appreciated this support and reiterated that Cuba will continue to bet on dialogue and cooperation, as long as these are developed on the basis of respect, sovereign equality, and without interference in internal affairs.
