Are there any bots that pay attention to that gesture? I keep hitting star on a toot, then realising it was posted by a bot, now wonder if all that did was satiate a habitualised craving I've carried over from the hellsite
sarantiumBeen a week or more I've been back on Mastodon. And a few days since I stopped using twitter. The noise, agitation and anxiety levels in my head are gradually decreasing.
It's really like Ive been drinking coke for years and stopped and started drinking water instead. The aftereffects still linger but hopefully silence over time.
Social media platforms - at least the giant for profit manipulators - should be labelled with health warnings

The expansive view on the world that Twitter gave me is irreplaceable, but the interface was not conducive to consideration or refining a thought. I loved all the things I learned, but I did not love how it trained me to think. #TwitterDetox
