So that was certainly a day that happened. The Owlbear and Trixie went to the dog park today, and she played with puppies into exhaustion. It's nice when she's adorable instead of a pain in my ass. Anyway, she's chilling on her horde, watching Airplane! and giggling occasionally, as one does when watching that movie.

So I said I was running the #Skyrim modlist #Tuxborn. I picked it for a few really solid reasons. It's got some great content mods, high resolution textures, animation fixes… and it has #Tux the penguin. It's got instructions specifically for #Linux installation, with Discord support and everything. It also works on Windows, if you're still, you know, running Windows 🙄😉

Anyway, I dunno if it's really awesome or not yet, but it's pretty fun so far. I'll let you know.

I'm too overwhelmed by my backlog of stuff to post about for my various characters, so I'm giving myself some amnesty and am going to just be posting periodic summaries for a while. Also: I am officially canceling Nona and Alecto's playthroughs, so that I can focus on playing Kenna in Tuxborn's current build.

Side effect of getting Tuxborn working on my MacBook: I've discovered that the settings needed in Crossover to get everything to work right block the use of the Steam overlay to track FPS. It also blocks me from using Steam's functionality for screenshots.

I've found the built-in macOS performance HUD, but that can't be toggled mid-game, I have to shut down both Steam and Tuxborn for that to take effect. Also, if the overlay is up, it'll show up in any screenshots I take with macOS's native screenshot key combo.

So I'm seeking other options. Can anyone recommend:

1. Good third-party FPS apps for macOS? Or,
2. Good third-party Windows apps that would work with Crossover?

My review of the Skyrim mod Wheels of Lull - Unwound Edition, now that I've completed playing it in my Tuxborn 0.5.2 run. Found it very much a mixed bag in terms of my player experience, but ultimately did enjoy running it, and expect I'll get better at the difficult parts with practice. No spoilers.
