Alberta Indigenous History... Did you know that the "beautiful" Abraham Lake was a man-made reservoir created as a joint project between the Alberta Government and Calgary Power, now TransAlta, to flood the hunting and trapping grounds, cabins, graves, and pastures of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation who lived on the Kootenay Plains as their ancestral homelands.
"Planning of the dam involved no evaluation of the social and environmental effects it may have caused and no public hearings were held prior to the construction." - Wiki
And you know where I first learned about this? The Royal Alberta Museum, in their exhibit on Human History. This is exactly the type of history which Trump is erasing from the United States museums for exposing "bad things" done by white colonists, such as "how bad slavery was" (Quote: Trump, 2025).
Don't let colonizer apologists get their hands on our history. Ever.
