So, here I am, after my #UKtrip comes to a close.
The country is changed. Things have grown old and died, or been replaced. New things have sprung up. Some things haven’t changed a bit.
But the UK is hurting, and there’s seemingly an undercurrent of nascent dissatisfaction with the government.
I know that there’s a growing mass hysteria about #trans #TransExistence here. It feels like the UK and the USA egg each other on.
But honestly, this whole experience has been good. It’s helped me lay some ghosts to rest, see a few people I’ve missed (although I didn’t get time to see everyone because this was a work trip).
Most of all though? It’s good to be heading home to see my wife @amerikate and the dogs and the chickens.
Home is my little piece of the #UK in the foothills of the coast range in #Oregon.
It’s not the UK that exists now, but all the good bits I remember with none of the bad. At least it is for my 1/3 of an acre… I guess an English girl’s home is her castle, after all.
