The 21:22 train to Elsinore finishes off the #TrainCation in a complete lack of style. It’s worn out, grubby, and features an interesting array of empty cans on the floor.

Even so, it’s our regular train home and it feels right. Summary of the journey to follow from a proper keyboard at some point.

Rail replacement bus journey done, now on a lovely IC3 from Slagelse. Almost the end of the #TrainCation

We made it to Hamburg with an hour to spare, now on the train to Copenhagen. No picture due to a last minute platform change.

We’ll get to enjoy a replacement bus service part of the way, though, because why not. #TrainCation

This morning starts in the proper German way: Points failure, train departure delayed by 30 minutes. #TrainCation
When in Germany, feed your teen schnitzel. #TrainCation
A sight for sore eyes: Last train of the day and our ticket to dinner in Köln. #TrainCation
@jon SNCB also just gained a lot of points. They sent actual humans to our platform to ensure that everyone was aware of the platform change in time to get to the right part of the new platform. #TrainCation

You’ve got to love #SNCB. Their online track information for Bruxelles Midi lists all trains as departing from track 0. The frequency of track change announcements also tells a story.

To be fair, my expectations were fairly low after following the travels of @jon , @quixoticgeek , and @moof for a few years…

#TrainCation

Down to walking pace now. I’d be annoyed if not for the fact that every minute we’re delayed here is a minute less spent at Bruxelles Midi. As long as we’re there within 90 minutes of the planned arrival all is good. We’ve planned our #TrainCation with ample time for changes.

People on the track in Belgium. This 300 km/h part of the trip is now a 40 km/h part. Stay off the track, people. #TrainCation

Edit: We’re apparently stuck outside the village of Silly. Seems appropriate.
