About to go check out a mobile home nearby. Listed as a "fixer upper" for $15k. Most worrying is a lack of pics showcasing the 2nd bedroom or the bathroom. It is 768 sq ft, which is 3x the space our current RV "boasts". Yeah, we literally live in a box. Frankly, as long as the place isn't leaking or dry rotting hard anywhere and the 2 rooms not pictured aren't on fire, we'll likely offer on it and prob what they're asking. After all, home prices here are crazy (as they are most places, but this area was already pretty pricey).

Would mean a not insignificant jump in monthly costs, from about $1k currently to somewhere around $1600. Her job is giving her a raise soon and she's been getting bonuses, so we should be able to handle it without like, not being able to buy food. Probably. Will need to be much more careful about our spending, which is fine. I've no plans to buy anything exorbitant now that I've got my PC kitted out, etc.

Today I installed a water heater in a neighbor's RV because the built in hybrid one blew out one of the water connections. He happened to have a 20 gallon electric one sitting behind his place for a few years now. Took a couple hours of work, I'd say. He gave me $400.

I'm also almost finished cooking a turkey in the perfectly good smoker someone left by the dumpster a couple months ago that just needed the screws tightened and the bracket on the firebox side flipped 180 degrees because whoever built it put it in upside down. Once I had that done and secured the firebox to the frame, it became quite rigid in contrast to the wiggly janky mess it was when I rolled it home.

If they don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

We lost another soul in the park yesterday. Mark (for any of you paying attention to my rambles here, this is the same Mark I fixed an Xbox One S for recently that he ended up giving back as he had tossed all his games and controllers when his One S died) got up yesterday morning and found his wife Cat on the floor. She was 65, They both lifelong smokers and drank more than a little. She had COPD and other health issues. Last time I saw her she was looking pretty gaunt.

I have a PS4 on the way with a bad HDMI port. It'll be the second this month, as the 1st one I fucked up the port replacement, but I learned some lessons. I was gonna give it to him (assuming I actually fix it) with a couple controllers I put Hall Effect sticks in and 3 disc games I also have digital copies of and tell hm to shoot me 60$ or so whenever he can. Now I'm just gonna give it to him.

Also thinking I might set him up as a Sub account under my PSN account so he can have access to my games, since he's retired and SSI is barely enough to live on when you're alone, even in a fucking trailer park. It'll be a bit of a pain, as he'll have to both bring it down here to DL games (doesn't have internet) and to do the once a year license handshake to keep playing stuff (pretty sure it has to happen on my IP address, correct me if I'm wrong) but like.. it feels like something I should at least offer him.

RIP Cat. You were more than a bit of a handful at times (she could be downright ornery) but you were decent people and fun to hang around. You will be missed.

Why does it never occur to me to go up on my roof and scrub off the spring dust and pollen grime until the hottest day of the year (so far)? Soon as I finished I checked the temp inside and it had gone down a couple degrees. #TrailerParkLife #RVLife #DamnItWasHotToday #ThanksCoolWater
In #TrailerParkLife news, the neighbor whose life we saved on the 8th is still in intensive care. Pancreatitis, pneumonia, various bacterial infections, "mild" heart attack, one kidney failed. He called us to help him off his floor, it became apparent quickly that he needed way more help so we called 911.
I've been walking his not very well trained dog most days since. Today was the first time he followed most of my commands, and walked my pace instead of pulling the leash. Was a nice walk.

Spent a couple hours on the RV roof, sweeping and then scrubbing the winter/spring muck off. Just the start of cleaning the RV today. Bout to scrub down the rest of it.

Btw, if you've ever considered RV living, be aware you will need to be on the roof, a lot lol. Better have a sturdy roof, be in shape enough to get up there, good balance, and no fears of heights. Or be willing to pay someone. 😆 In the next month I'll be up there again, giving it a new coat of rubber sealant. #TrailerParkLife

I did all the laundry yesterday. Been about 6 years since the last time doing laundry meant walking over to machines I didn't have to put change into or driving to a laundromat with machines I tap a card on to pay. Yeah laundry sucks but damn it's nice having our own machines. Even if they're maybe 40 years old and have issues, lol. Timer on the dryer can't turn itself. Lint trap housing is busted. Part no longer sold at any warehouse so I'll have to cobble up a repair. #DIY #TrailerParkLife
Dremel cutting bit arrived today, along with a washer drain hose and some clamp on hose ends. So I spent the day setting up the washer/dryer stack I was given a couple weeks ago which I repaired. Cut holes in the shed side for the drain and vent to pass through. Set up a short length of hose to feed the washer. Hooked it up and tested it, looked good so I ran a couple loads through. Maybe I'm spoiled, but damn I sure missed having my own laundry machines. Laundromats suck. #DIY #TrailerParkLife
"Gifted" a stacking washer/dryer today from a neighbor. Gave them a small washer/spin dryer for an apartment in return. "It used to work pretty good" they said, lol. Spent 3 hours tearing it down and running down what they did to it (they're both drunk most of the time), They'd undone some wires and connected them wrong. That fixed the dryer. Washer tub wasn't able to stabilize well. Put a bolt back in the "shipping" hole. It'll shake a bit more, but it won't be inside so eh. #TrailerParkLife
I never thought I would actually get tired of bad weather. At this point I'm almost at "I hate the rain" levels. I guess I was privileged to have been able to (barely) afford to live in solid structures like houses and apartment complexes until 5 years ago, ignoring a short period of homelessness when I was 19. .. in the 90s, a truly different time, heh. Living in this RV sure has been an experience. Gotta keep an eye on the awning today, 45-60mph wind gusts forecast. #TrailerParkLife
