Hello #histodons!

I have discovered only one Black builder of Boston's #ThreeDecker houses, late 19thC/early20thC. He arrived from Canada post Civil War and was variously identified as Colored/Black/White in census and other documents. His second wife was identified as white.

I'm curious, and looking for context. suggestions?
