Things I saw
A man crossing the road, a brick in each hand.
Three geese ignoring an old woman.
A half naked man asleep next to the road, completely inside a transparent plastic bag. On his back, arms spread wide.
The shadow of a bird flying over the shadow of a bridge.
Things I saw:
On the train: two women, clearly strangers to one another. One is wordlessly helping the other untangle her knitting.
On the train: a man who looks like a labourer, his clothes, cap, and shoes all black, dusty and worn. On his knee is a sparkling new pink gift bag bearing the words "baby girl".
On the train: an old man staring disapprovingly at another old man who is watching a video about the benefits of bee pollen.
Things I saw:
An old man, fast asleep on the train, wearing a single grey woolen glove that was missing the tip of its index finger.
A tired looking woman in a high-vis vest deftly repainting a road marking.
A sign outside a swimming pool that said "NO MUSIC NO SMOKING NO DRINKING HAVE FUN".
A sign that said: "DANGER" in big red block letters, and underneath, in black, "MOVING PLANT".
A man carrying a bright yellow bucket with both hands. It had a label that said: "DANGER VENOMOUS SNAKES".
Things I saw:
A worried-looking woman listening to her phone. An old man's voice is audible, saying "...there are six mice. Five of them are dead."
An ancient, olive-green Mercedes Benz with a bumper sticker that reads: "There Is No License For The Misuse Of Gods Name".
A cashier cheerfully telling me "I will just search for 'poop'".
A little girl in a soaked white dress, wading out of the sea after being baptized.
A single grey sock floating among the sea-weed at the bottom of the tidal pool.
Things I saw:
A group of children cheering on a caterpillar as it crosses a road.
A crow eyeing me as it pecks at something on the train tracks.
"Hit Me Baby One More Time" playing over a shop's speaker system as a cashier sadly says "...and soon it will be the Christmas music".
A goat and a dog sniffing at one another's noses through a fence.
A little girl sitting in the train, swaying back and forth and struggling to put a nose on a tiny plasticine man she's cradling in her palm.
Things I Saw
A tiny snail covered in pollen.
A cyclist angrily using a bright yellow fly swatter to indicate that he's turning.
A boy saluting me as I drive past his house.
A horse ignoring a barking dog.
Things I saw:
A gecko leaping out of a keyhole.
A man with a spiderweb tattooed on his face, ordering a pie.
A dog looking at something behind me (there was nothing behind me).
An old man forgetting how to put on a shirt.
A caterpillar lumbering away from a fly that was stalking it.
things i saw on our drive back home:
- a big sign on a building that just said "afab". a company logo?
- a construction excavator holding a sign that said "judge [wayne brooks? idk what it read for sure]: their blood is on your hands!"
- a road sign standing on one leg after the other had snapped
- a message spelled with colorful plastic cups on an overhead bridge fence that read "monacare cancer crush!" not sure if i got that name right, it's hard to spell and remember
