It looks like #TheYoungTerfs and their fanbase drove @parkermolloy off Twitter with non-stop anti-trans harassment because she criticized the transphobic things they were doing.
Don't support people who treat trans people like this.
The whole thing with #TYT just reminds me a lot of the #NewYorkTimes. They're trying to assert some sort of "serious, responsible, objective" framing for their reporting, and they see the easiest way to not be seen as "beholden to the left" or "too left wing" is to just basically shit all over trans people and lie about us.
#Cenk really made that clear in his whole performance where he was refusing to engage with the substance, and just playing to the TERFs by pretending he was just being a strong feminist ally, while all these MEN are trying to tell a WOMAN what she can call herself.
They were explicitly using the conflict they generated by being transphobic and reveling in the transphobia as some "proof of neutrality" and "refusal to be bullied" (which is especially nonsensical when they have all the power in this. They showed that by just ignoring everything we were saying and acting like we didn't exist) and promoted their show to the anti-trans people whose approval they had sought out.
And I've got to say, I'm pretty sick of people thinking they can demagogue us for easy money.
