In 1984, how did you learn about pubs which *would* put on the soccer game, instead of showing some sport activity which you could have viewed at home, or {worse} considering you as some 'freak' immigrant for asking? #thesession
Its defining element was its satellite television capacity. This was the era of the 'big ugly dish' {BUD!}; a 7-foot or larger C-Band satellite antenna. I puzzle whether it owned the antenna, but it had access to its receiver. The dish itself was probably owned by the *National Soccer League* of Chicago, whose head office was next door at 4534 North. #satellite #soccer #thesession
