"The Main Event/Fight" is a 1979 medley recorded by #BarbraStreisand. The song is the title track and only single issued from the soundtrack of the film #TheMainEvent starring Streisand and #RyanONeal. The song became the first of two major disco-styled hits for Streisand, the other being "#NoMoreTearsEnoughIsEnough," a duet with #DonnaSummer later the same year. Both songs were written by #PaulJabara and #BruceRoberts.

On "The Main Event/Fight" - HUGE hit for Barbra in 1979 (there seemed to be a question about whether it was a hit. Oh yes. It was! I was there. LOL).

Also, if anyone loves the song & isn't aware, the movie soundtrack (which goes in & out of print) has an 11-minute version (my fave), & a few years ago DJ ShyBoy put together a mashup of Barbra's "Main Event" with RuPaul's "Main Event" called 'The Main Main Event" which is *killer* fun!
