Yes, in that podcast, Rodney pointed out that the Viridian was surrounded by the Federation and Ni'Var fleet and Discovery was able to jump away.

In addition to the lives lost, many of whom may have been there unwillingly, wouldn't Starfleet have benefited from capturing that big ship? If nothing else, they could have salvaged its dilithium.

I just finished #StarTrekDiscovery S3 and listened to the podcast, and that scene where they ejected the warp core bothered me as well b/c it seemed completely unnecessary if they were going to engage the spore drive anyway.

I had not considered all the people that would be killed on #Osyraa's ship. 😳

Maybe it could be justified as self defense as the ship was actually firing on Discovery? I'd hate to think it was an intentional leadership decapitation.
