Tattershall Castle in Lincolnshire has a number of interesting features, including stained glass windows showing the arms of the families that once owned the castle, fireplaces with heraldic shields and fascinating graffiti.

With regards to the graffiti I have taken photos of a number of them over the years but never found out who the people who carved their names in the stonework were, however, I recently discovered who one person was.

"James Gibson 1642" was the vicar of Horncastle. He was imprisoned at Tattershall by the puritanical 4th Earl of Lincoln Theophilus Clinton for preaching in a rather High Churchy manner...'
