I could put again my hands on my GEM S2. As you know since I’ve posted about it several times in the last few months, I love it as it’s a digital synthesiser from 1992, but has some amazing resonant filters and it REALLY shines with analog pads. I had the occasion to use again my old #Generalmusic #S2 digital #synth. I got it second hand in 1996. It was quite capable for the MIDI routing and as a master keyboard. Presets sound very 1990’s. Those I liked the most today are the #SYNTHEX ones, that emulate the legendary #ELKA synth. I discovered today that both synths were designed in the exact same place, at #Recanati in the Marche region of Italy. In fact ELKA was acquired by Generalmusic in 1989, that then produced my S2 in 1992.
