When my #grandson (aka The Boy) was born, he was the image of his dad, much to my daughter’s chagrin. As he gets older, he’s starting to look more and more like her. He’s #19months now and I told her last week he’s looking more like her, and she told me that he must be because “there’s certain looks he gives me where I think he’s the spit of you!”

I’m quietly delighted. But don’t tell anyone. #StrongGenes #JDG

Never done it before but always wanted to join in so am kicking off this month with the Photo a Day challenge set by Genealogy Girl Talks. Every day is a new word prompt for a family history picture - today's prompt is Ancestor and this picture is one of my favourites. It is of my Great Grandparents Walter and Martha Batters. Why is it my favourite? I see in them generations of Batters who have followed after them - good, honest, hard-working individuals who take pleasure from the simple things in life like family. You cannot deny the Batters genes. My Grandmother is the image of Martha and my father is the image of his mother. #genealogyphotoaday #familyhistory #stronggenes #battersfamily
