This is a big, big deal for me and my thoughts are too many, but, what lingers most strongly on this, the morning after me finding out belatedly that my favorite album by probably* my favorite band of the mid-eighties was finally given a much deserved remix is:
1. Ed Stasium was not the one for the job, they should’ve had the Don’t Tell a Soul remixer do it.
2. The drums are much better but the guitars are now too, too close.
3. Tommy Ramone knew what he was doing when he left the piano entirely out of the mix of “Here comes a Regular”
4. “Waitress” was the one track that did not need a remix. The loud BV’s make it lesser.
5. One of the tracks now has a vocal reverb that is a) too loud, and b) out of pocket. Major gaffe.
No one but me gives a shit about this stuff so I’ll leave it to five things. #StillObsessed * there was also of course Hüsker Dü
