LCARS<->Mastodon (Legacy Compatibility Bridge, Text Modes, 21st Century Earth Protocols) users may request open positions by submitting a query with one of the following keywords:

* arts
* engineering
* counseling
* trombone
* user research

If multiple keywords are submitted, only the last keyword is recognized.

Prospective and current members of Starfleet may now query the Starfleet HR LCARS database and receive an open position by mentioning this account with one of the following keyword options:

* "engineering" to request an engineering posting
* "arts" to request an arts posting
* "counseling" to request a Starfleet counselor position posting

If multiple keywords are submitted, LCARS will only consider the final keyword.
