#SplashMountain is a log flume ride formerly located at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, with the Tokyo Disneyland version being the only one still operating. The attraction is based on the animated sequences of Disney's 1946 film Song of the South. The ride experience begins with an outdoor float-through that leads to indoor dark ride segments, with a climactic steep drop followed by an indoor finale. The drop is 52.5 feet (16.0 meters).
From the train, we used to have a better view into #SplashMountain than we do now into #TianasBayouAdventure , right? I remember being able to wave at the people in the logs, and some would wave back. Impossible now. #Disneyland #ThePrincessAndTheFrog

Got a chance to ride #TianasBayouAdventure at #Disneyland yesterday, and it was so much fun! Love the new animatronics and scenes, but there's so much to see, and things go by so fast that it's hard to take it all in.

My only lament, as was the case with #SplashMountain , is that there's a lot of fun that people will miss out on because they can't do rides with drops or don't want to get soaking wet. 1/2

My very hot take on the Splash Mountain rebrand is that... it's better.  Honestly the theming is a bit confusing and doesn't fit a log flume ride at all, but neither did Song of the South really. The Brer Rabbit stuff was always pretty thin on the ground, but the Tiana stuff is at least super cute (Beau is best opossum  ) and the theme of building a band is fun. I dunno. I like it.  Plus Song of the South is racist, boring, and dumb. Princess and the Frog has Friends on the Other Side and it SLAPS.

The ride's name is hot garbage though.  The fact that it's "Tiana's Bayou Adventure" and not "Tiana's Bayou Bash" drives me insane. YOU'RE BUILDING A BAND. THE ALLITERATION WAS RIGHT. THERE.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Invites Guests to “Dig A Little Deeper” Into Once-Problematic Disney Attraction

The new ride, which replaces Splash Mountain, is now officially open to the public at Walt Disney World.

The Hollywood Reporter
Disney Parks released a full ride-through POV of Tiana's Bayou Adventure the other day.

I think I agree with the commenter who said, "Disney once created a Haunted Mansion with 999 souls. Now they've created a mountain without one."

They passed on having Facilier in the attraction. Shadowman would have spiced up the place something fierce.

The timing on the scene animations is off. Badly. The spot where Tiana just stares at you blankly as your log approaches is top-tier awkward as heck.

The amount of dead space and downtime between scenes is excessive. Yes, I know they were retrofitting an attraction that had timing issues but it just seems worse now somehow. And that's even with the video being edited to remove dead spots!

I am so disappointed. I was excited to see what Tiana was cooking up for us. Turns out that she forgot to turn the stove on.

Complaints about story seem especially funny when you realize the storyline that was replaced was "a bear and a fox chase a bunny."

Looking forward to Thanksgiving.

We were going through some of our stuff this weekend and found this #SplashMountain #sorry game that we apparently bought at one point.

It comes in a tin with lots of cool graphics on the packaging and ride vehicles as the play tokens! 2/2
