HBO Max’s Shōgun Replacement Series Arrives Very Soon
#HBOMax estrenará el 9 de mayo #SongOfTheSamurai, serie jidaigeki live-action basada en el manga “Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem” de Umemura Shinya (autor de Record of Ragnarok).
El manga tiene 36 volúmenes, más de 3 millones de copias vendidas y adaptaciones previas a anime y teatro. Producida por TBS, U-Next y The Seven (productora de Alice in Borderland y Yu Yu Hakusho), llega a HBO Max vía la alianza #WarnerBrosDiscovery – U-Next.
El drama se ambienta en Kioto a finales del período Edo y sigue al Shinsengumi, el cuerpo samurái que defendió al shogunato en una época de gran turbulencia política. En el centro está Hijikata Toshizo (Yamada Yuki), cuya hermandad con Kondo Isami y Okita Soji forma el corazón emocional de la serie, mientras la lealtad, traición, enfermedad y guerra amenazan al grupo ante el colapso del antiguo orden.
Completan el reparto Go Ayano y Nakajima Kento. Sakai Masaaki escribió los guiones, Watanabe Kazutaka dirige y Morii Akira, Inoue Mamoru y Shimomura Kazuya producen.
