@stepheneb Yes! That is one place I researched right away. Then on a basic internet search it’s astonishing what people have posted about cleaning. I tried my experiments with OxiClean I had here because I learned the main active ingredient is #SodiumPercarbonate then fillers. So I ordered and got 2 pounds of the pure powder. Definite use a tiny amount of it if you try the pure powder.
Ta-da! Finally done, comment 6. Thread of 7 parts. Oven 98% clean and no longer smokes or smells. FYI the lemon oil in the final rinse of vinegar water spray was worth it. Whole task 2 1/2 hours. Final tip—don’t freakin’ wait 2 weeks to clean the oven of a big cheese spill and burnt cheese. Yikes. To see the saga here you have to click each post in a row. Now is a good time for any questions, suggestions or raspberries. Turkey is now in the oven. Whew!

Holy Guacamole I’m on method tips comment 5. Son took pity and wiped out most of residue and now I’ve sprayed interior with vinegar water mostly water and 10 drops concentrated lemon oil (essential oil). He said “Sure hope turkey doesn’t smell like vinegar”. Remember to go to each post in a row by clicking each successive reply I make. The end is in sight. Only 1/2 hour late from putting turkey in to roast.

For #TipOfDay comments promised. 1st one is I have no idea why I tried my fantasy of 50 years ago when I hoped the cheese spilled from a frozen pizza I jazzed up would just “burn off”. Nope nope nope. My paste is baking soda 1 cup to 1/3 cup water. Use hard scraper first to get any loose debris. Let it set 1 hour. See next image.

Just in case my recent obsession with #SodiumPercarbonate has left you under the impression I am a great housekeeper and do a sterling job of handling all the cleaning tasks here, I’m disabusing you of that notion right now with my present task of trying to clean off a couple weeks of burnt-on and melted cheese in the oven. Good thing I remembered before heating the oven to roast turkey. #TipOfDay. You can only imagine the smoke and smell when oven is hot. Following comments for method.

Because I am attracted to shiny objects.
And, remember my posts this morning?

This is another discovery I made about #SodiumPercarbonate
But this time I noticed my electric kettle was looking dirty and even a bit greasy. So, Voilá, a video showing each side of the kettle as I worked on it. Sound up.

No one asked but yes, I used OxiClean as a paste to get all the coffee oils and stains out of the stainless steel pot and parts. AND I am humbled that I’m learning what else sodium percarbonate can do. My stainless steel sink is stunningly clean now. Can’t wait till that 2 pound bag comes to use the real deal. #SodiumPercarbonate #Coffee #StainlessSteel
