@bhaugen @bob Long ago in the GNU Social days I was inspired by the #Sharings plugin which was made by a group called in Spain called Las Indias. It was a bartering or freecycle-like system where you could publish items that you wanted to share.

I've reused that same idea in #Epicyon. At present it's a feature only available to instance members, and doesn't federate via AP. I have thought about federating it using the ActivityStreams Offer activity, but I think the potential for spam is too great. It's probably better to keep this type of functionality as something small scale between people on the same instance who are more likely to have some level of trust.
