"To address this issue, we developed a lightweight Persistent Uniform Resource Locator (PURL) resolver during the BioHackathon Japan 2025. The resolver is implemented in PHP, chosen for its ubiquity on standard web servers and its compatibility with the EasyRDF library for RDF handling. It's very sad to hear that Gregg Kellogg from the #semweb community has passed away. He had a remarkable gift for working at the difficult seam where standards and specifications meet software implementations and the real world. He also always seemed positive and cheerful in his interactions -- and will be sorely missed.

very excited to have @jelabra here in Maastricht since Tuesday evening. Yesterday he was opponent in Ammar's PhD defense and he give presentation in the mini symposium in the afternoon, and right now we're looking into his new Rudof tool

Today in the ISE 2025 lecture on OWL, the Web Ontology Language. Tired of using slide presentations (at temperatures like today and giving the same presentation all over again), I spontaneously decided to design arbitrary OWL ontologies together with the students on the good old blackboard ;-)

Tomorrow, we will dive deeper into ontologies with OWL, the Web Ontology Language. However, I'm doing OWL-lectures now for almost 20 years - and OWL as well as the lecture haven't changed much. So, I'm afraid I'm going to surprise/dissapoint the students tomorrow, when I will switch off the presentation and start improvising a random OWL ontology with them on the blackboard ;-)
