I highly recommend maintaining a good data privacy hygiene on there. Especially because of all the data collected from these platforms, most recently, infamously, for scanning all your posts to feed For-Profit-AI-Machine™️

One important step to improve your data hygiene is to delete the older posts that are no longer useful to you (you can do this automatically on Mastodon by the way)  

Many [BigCorpSocial™️] have rendered this task more difficult recently by removing features previously provided to third-party developers.

BUT there is a fantastic desktop app developed by @micahflee coming up for this with a workaround!

Hey #Twitter #birdsite people, can you help me understand this?

I'm manually undoing retweets (because I waited until the API access was denied, rendering #Semiphemeral, etc useless), and am running into an issue when trying to undo some retweets, and wondering if I am stuck with them forever.

What I am seeing per image below is "You Retweeted...", but when looking at the RT button, there isn't an option to "Undo Retweet" instead, options are to "Retweet" or "QT.

Is this an anomaly of how Twitter databases are falling apart?

Asking because I "unpaused" the service and it appears to be running.

#BirdChan evac plan (do it before you regret it):

1) Archive tweets, then bulk delete. Highly recommend #Semiphemeral for this. Can delete DMs as well (also highly recommended)

2) Export your follows/lists (use #Debirdify)

3) Lock account - DO NOT delete

4) Update password if possible for max security. (Don’t set up 2FA if that’s an option - not reliably supported)

5) Delete iOS and/or Android apps - security no longer guaranteed
