AskPippa🇨🇦Is anyone backing up website info from #NASA, NOAA and other agencies that are involved in climate and weather research? I suspect lots of data are under threat of being deleted or lost. About 12 years ago Canada lost huge amounts of valuable, historical material relating to fisheries and other areas because they were considered political hot buttons. Government scientists were muzzling, especially those involved in climate, fisheries, ocean studies, oil and other topics that the Harper government considered inconvenient. #ProtectTheData
#Climate info comes from satellites, studies; weather balloon data; scientist profiles, press releases; info from space telescopes; before & after Earth images over decades; studies of #ClimateChange on other planets, video summaries, etc. Other US agencies have details such as things like changes in species health, adaptation and migration patterns, core samples (ice, rick, ocean), coral reef health, etc. -- anything that adds to knowledge about climate change, causes and effects.
